Primary Prep offers a full range of traditional academics with specially selected themes to make the curriculum exciting for your child. The uniqueness of our schedule provides an exceptional opportunity for learning. As a bonus to the working parent, Primary Prep is a five day, full-time program. There are few half-days or early dismissals.

During the school week children are exposed to a wide variety of academic subject matter in carefully planned lessons. The teachers use high quality textbooks and learning materials that make each experience fun as well as educational.

Primary Prep also offers explorations into the arts through music, art, and dance:

  • Music is explored through a wide variety of media including song, speech, movement, dance, and games of self expression. The 'Cirque du Primary Prep' spring performance is a culmination of our yearlong endeavors.

  • Our Art program delves into a wide variety of media. Coupled with this are trips to the New York City museums. In school the children enjoy projects that include drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts, commercial art, and art appreciation. The students explore the elements of art such as line, shape, color, texture, and form. Materials and techniques are varied to expose the children to many different forms of art.

  • Physical education emphasizes structured individualized skill development in seasonal sports and activities. The goal of the physical education curriculum is to help students develop lifelong skills that include daily exercise and sport. The key element is to assist the children in assuming responsibility for their own health and well-being through a physically active lifestyle.

  • Computers, while used as a tool in our everyday activities, are more fully utilized to explore technology, math, science, and art.
